Multilingual short messaging is here!
TranslationLinks today announced the initial testing phase of its Multilingual Short Messaging (MSM) system has begun. Participants in the testing phase will compose short messages in English and send them to a database of pre-determined recipients in the recipients’ language of choice (English/Spanish only for the beta test) and delivery method of choice (SMS, voice, fax, or email).

TranslationLinks Director Ignacio Jimenez had this to say: “Messaging is nothing new, but when you combine multiple language capabilities and multiple delivery modes, the applications are amazingly diverse.”

“MSM is the ideal tool for organizations and companies to stay in touch with a customer base of varied ethnicities and delivery preferences,” says Karen Runchel, Communications Director of TranslationLinks. “We’re very excited to begin testing this state-of-the-art application.”

TranslationLinks today announced that it has relocated its Miami operations to a new office space located at 201 S. Biscayne Boulevard, 28th Floor, Miami, Florida 33131 USA, in the heart of the city, the company will be better positioned to serve its Miami-based and other clientele more effectively and efficiently.

TranslationLinks Director Ignacio Jimenez says, “This is just the next logical step for us. With the growth we've experienced in the last couple of years and a concentration of it coming from the east coast, a new operations office in Miami just made sense for us.”

Hyundai Motor Company visits TranslationLinks headquarters
Denver, Colorado, May 17, 2007 – TranslationLinks today announced a visit to its headquarters office by Mr. John (Jongyun) Kim, Deputy General Manager of Marketing for Central and South American and Caribbean operations for Hyundai Motor Company.

Topics discussed included quality control processes and efficiency in translation practices. TranslationLinks Director, Ignacio Jimenez had this to say: “We were honored by Mr. Kim’s visit and are looking forward to further developing our growing relations with Hyundai now, and in the future.”

TranslationLinks Awarded SDB Certification

Denver, Colorado, March 29, 2007 – TranslationLinks today announced its formal certification as a Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) under the Small Business Administration (SBA) guidelines. Under the SBA guidelines, SDB companies are entitled to benefit from government bids awarded to prime contractors.

Company President Ignacio Jimenez stated, “We are very excited about this certification. Our clients get a double benefit: 1) they continue to benefit from the services we provide, and 2) we help them meet the SDB Government requirement.” Jimenez was featured in the January 2007 issue of Colorado Biz magazine for his contributions to Tech Start-Up of the Month, WebXample, which is technology partner to TranslationLinks.

TranslationLinks is proud to endorse NCIHC Standards of Practice.
As part of our mission to provide the best services in the industry, and with the growing demand for qualified interpreters in the health care industry, TranslationLinks is proud to endorse the National Council of Interpreting in Health Care(NCIHC).

The NCIHC has published the National Standards of Practice for Interpreters in Health Care, the first such standards for medical interpreting professionals in the United States.

The NCIHC's National Standards of Practice is designed to help improve the quality and consistency of interpreting in health care. Similar to clinical protocols for physicians, these new standards will provide guidance as to what is expected of health care interpreters and what constitutes good practice.

Translationlinks brings back former assistant director, Karen Runchel.
Karen Runchel rejoins the TranslationLinks Team, this time in the role of Client/Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator.

“I’m so excited to be back,” says Ms. Runchel. I truly believe in this company and what I can do to help it to continue to grow.”

Ms. Runchel’s responsibilities will include maintaining client relations, seeking outreach opportunities within the business community, and developing and managing marketing campaigns for the company. Translationlinks, Inc. provides interpreters to several Denver-Metropolitan-area school districts. When autumn arrives, the need for these interpreters in various languages, particularly Spanish, Hmong, and Vietnamese, increases exponentially.

Translationlinks, Inc. furnishes extensive coordination and strict quality control in sending dozens of interpreters to schools for registration, assessment, and conferences.

Translationlinks aids mayor Hickenlooper in achieving goal of creating 25,000 new jobs.
TranslationLinks Director Ignacio Jimenez agreed to participate in a business interview and roundtable. TranslationLinks was one of 369 Denver businesses chosen to participate in this fact-finding study to aid Denver economic development by better understanding the City’s strengths and weaknesses as a place in which to do business.

The study’s results document findings in the areas of business climate, infrastructure, and city services and present seven strategic recommendations for the city’s economic development agenda. The complete report is posted on the city’s economic development site at www.denvergov.org/business.
